#Blogmas Day 21 + 22: Winter Break Goals!

Hello guys!

So, I have a bunch of goals for winter break and I'm catching up on Blogmas so that is what I am doing. :)

1. My first goal is to.... Plan out my entire Pirate novel. 

Planning is so hard for me. I love to plan but I am horrible at it. Like it's horrible that I am horrible. Words don't make sense today. It's Christmas Eve and I'm so excited.

Anyways. For Nanowrimo, I wrote part of my pirate story which kind of is going nowhere right now. I know my goal for the end of the story but that is about it. So, I am going to attempt to plan. Besides Cait from Paper Fury told me that it is satisfying and I trust her advice. She is ridiculously good at planning.  And I want to plan this entire novel.

2. My second goal is to...Try to read the books that I have started and not finished + a couple I have pushed off for awhile. 

This includes:

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

A Taste for Monsters by Matthew J. Kirby

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

3. My third goal is to...Reorganize all my bookshelves

So, I will probably get tons of books for Christmas and my shelves are already suffering but I have some ways to cram more books on there and that is what I want to do.

4. My fourth goal is to... Start planning/writing January blogposts

I have not been doing well with this goal lately but I am going to try. I promise.

5.  My fifth goal is to.... Actually get on top of my homework. 

Yes, I have break homework and I want to start doing notes and stuff so I am not cramming next month.

6. My sixth goal is to... Attempt to reorganize my drawers so I don't have clothes lying all around. 

I need to do this. I keep telling myself to, and I never do it. AHHH

1. What is Your Favorite Christmas Movie/s?

I don’t really watch Christmas movies. [I know, I’m weird], so my favorite movie that has to do at least a little bit with Christmas would be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I love it so much!

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Christmas morning.

3. Do you have a Favorite Christmas Memory?

Being woken up at 6 in the morning by my younger sister every Christmas, to see what Santa had brought us. Usually, she woke up first and went out and then jumped on me to get me up.

4. Favorite Festive Food?

Christmas sugar cookies. They smell and taste so amazing. Mmm!

5. Favorite Christmas Gift?

I don’t have one but I loved getting my first American Girl doll. I was so happy and I still have it.

6. Favorite Christmas Scent?

The smell of cookies baking and when they are all fresh and warm. Yum!

7. Do you Have any Christmas Eve Traditions?

For the past about five or six years, we have gone to the late-night church service with candles and carols and the whole thing. It is so much fun, even though I am usually exhausted and end up getting really sick the next day or next week. :(

8. What tops your Tree?

It depends. We alternate. But usually either a gold star or a gold angel.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you always asked for but never received?

A cat. I asked for a cat almost every year until I got a cat but not on Christmas. My parents always just disregarded that one item on my list. And I usually put it in extra large letters too.

10. What’s the best part about Christmas For You?

Just getting presents and getting to spend time away from the stresses of school and responsibilities. I look forward to it every year.

#Blogmas Days 11, 12, 13, and 14 Stocking Stuffers For Girls!

Hello guys! I know that this post is late. I meant to have it up last weekend but here it is: STOCKING STUFFERS FOR GIRLS!

I know that I am usually a book blogger but Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year, so I have to share the magic with everyone else. 

I know, some people like giving small little presents and here are some of the perfect gifts you can give a girl. [mostly for teenage girls].  The prices are general, may change depending on where you buy them. 

1. Eos Lip Balm $3.49

I don't know about you guys or any girls you know, but I love Eos lip balm because it is a cute little lipbalm that you can keep in your purse and it serves a purpose. 

 

2. Fuzzy Socks $9.00 - $13.00

I bet a lot of you hated getting socks when you were a kid but now almost every girl loves fuzzy socks. Especially, if you are living in a cold place where the temperature goes down all the time and you almost freeze to death. [#reality] These are a cute thing to put in any girls stocking. She'll love it. Guaranteed. 

3. Nail polish $9.00 

Now, not every girl likes nail polish so you might want to check with them before you buy this. Nevertheless, if she likes nail polish, this is such a cute idea to get someone. Metallics are something that is really in this year. 

4. Rollerball Perfume $20 

Perfume is something that a lot of girls like to wear. Personally, I don't usually wear perfume but rollerball perfume is really easy to use. A lot of places have these so it isn't too hard to find. 

5. Lotion $5 

A lot of people's hands get dry in the winter so get them a little bottle of lotion. Bath and Body Works has cute lotions in many different scents, so start there. 

6. Small notebook/planner $15

Personally, I love to write things down, and afterall, I am a blogger so I kind of have to store my ideas somewhere. A planner or notebook is a great thing to give someone that they can carry around all the time and write small reminders or things down. 

7. Key Ring $5 

Key rings are such a good idea to give a girl or really anyone. Keys are something most people have, and there are so many cute key rings out there so that is something that is a good stocking stuffer. 

8. Iphone/Ipod Case $20 

These break often and you want your phone/ipod to be stylish and safe. Right? I know I do, so I recommend getting a cute case for any girl. There are so many to choose from, just look around. 

9. Hair Ties $6

Come on. I loose these all the time, so every girl with long hair needs some of these at all times. Who knows, when they will want to put their hair up? I prefer the ones made out of soft fabric as they feel better and don't leave annoying marks. 

10. Nail Files $2

Nail files are a necessity to keeping nails easy to manage. Plus, they are super cheap and can be thrown in a purse or bag whenever.

Sorry that this post is so late. I am really slow at TBR's I know. But here it finally is. These are mostly books that I really need to read or books that have a winter feel to them. Let's get into it.

The first book I have on this list is Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. I am so so excited to start this one but also pretty scared because it's the last one and people have said it is sad and I don't want any of my babies to die.

Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn't think they'd survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they're right back to fighting for their lives. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. The second book on this list is Jackaby by William Ritter. I have had this on my TBR for awhile now but I never checked it out from the library, until last month. I have actually finished this one and I will be doing a review as soon as I can.

Doctor Who meets Sherlock in William Ritter’s debut novel, which features a detective of the paranormal as seen through the eyes of his adventurous and intelligent assistant in a tale brimming with cheeky humor and a dose of the macabre.

The third book on this list is Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I am actually currently reading this and it is such a good book so far. That being said, I am only 20 or so pages into it. But I can't wait to marathon read this book. Going to be starting my winter books this weekend though.

The fourth book on this list is Winterspell by Claire Legrand. I am so excited for this one despite having this for over a year and never picking it up. But it is The Nutcracker so I have to read it guys.

The clock chimes midnight, a curse breaks, and a girl meets a prince…but what follows is not all sweetness and sugarplums.

The fifth book I have on this list is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I have not read this one yet. I know, I am a Harry Potter fanatic and I have NOT read this one. I'm sorry. I promise to read it this month or January if I don't get to it. I'm both excited and terrified!

It's no longer safe for Harry at Hogwarts, so he and his best friends, Ron and Hermione, are on the run. Professor Dumbledore has given them clues about what they need to do to defeat the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort, once and for all, but it's up to them to figure out what these hints and suggestions really mean.

Their cross-country odyssey has them searching desperately for the answers, while evading capture or death at every turn. At the same time, their friendship, fortitude, and sense of right and wrong are tested in ways they never could have imagined.

The ultimate battle between good and evil that closes out this final chapter of the epic series takes place where Harry's Wizarding life began: at Hogwarts. The satisfying conclusion offers shocking last-minute twists, incredible acts of courage, powerful new forms of magic, and the resolution of many mysteries.

The sixth book I have on this list is the Book Club Book for this month which is A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro. I am excited for this one because it is a Sherlock retelling and I'm all about that.

The last thing Jamie Watson wants is a rugby scholarship to Sherringford, a Connecticut prep school just an hour away from his estranged father. But that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s great-great-great-granddaughter, who has inherited not only Sherlock’s genius but also his volatile temperament. From everything Jamie has heard about Charlotte, it seems safer to admire her from afar.

From the moment they meet, there’s a tense energy between them, and they seem more destined to be rivals than anything else. But when a Sherringford student dies under suspicious circumstances, ripped straight from the most terrifying of the Sherlock Holmes stories, Jamie can no longer afford to keep his distance. Weekly Update: 12/5 - 12/11

I have decided to start doing a weekly post called weekly recap where I update you on my life, reading and watching. Plus any posts I have done or will do.

This was a productive week in terms of school. I got a lot of things done and am on top of my work for the most part. Also Hairspray Live was this week [I didn't watch the whole thing but the soundtrack is amazing]

I have also been watching Legends of Tomorrow because #newobsession.

And so many books came!

I started Blogmas as well and am trying to catch up but we'll see. Also, I am so excited for Christmas so prepare yourself for some posts this week! :)
