Summary:

A thrilling, seductive new series from New York Timesbestselling author Sarah J. Maas, blending Beauty and the Beastwith faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

Review:

This is a beautiful re-imagining of Beauty and the Beast. Some of the elements from Beauty and the Beast are obvious and some are not.

First of all, the cover is beautiful and is fits the book.

The world-building is fantabulous and thoroughly detailed. She gives us a lot of background though not in a boring, droning on sort of way. Instead our main character: Feyre learns with us.

Then there are the characters.

Feyre was well-developed and was a wonderful heroine. She didn’t depend on a man to help her get through her troubles. At the beginning, she was the sole supporter of her family.

Tamlin is the Beast character in this book and he is totally a Beast. ;) But he’s also really sweet and you care about him. He has so much weight on his shoulders and still manages to stand tall.

Then there are the secondary characters like Rhysand, Lucien and Alis.

Rhysand is exactly the type of person that you are meant to hate but it is so hard to hate him and in fact I really don’t hate him at all. And if Tamlin and Feyre weren’t so good together then I would ship Feyre and Rhysand.

The romance was beautiful and intensely steamy which just made it so much better. And it wasn’t insta-lovey. I SHIP THEM SO HARD! They are so adorable and they have such good chemistry. I blushed a lot while reading this book.

The villain though. She has so much mystery surrounding her and you will hate her so much. And in this case it is kind of a good thing.

The action is on-point and I love how it was Feyre herself who was in the danger most of the time and she was saving her prince rather than the other way around.

Final Thoughts:

Everything about this book deserves five stars. It was beautiful, sad and swoon-worthy. I recommend this to all fantasy, fairytale lovers and romance lovers. I will totally be buying this book.

Quotes from the Book:

“Don't feel bad for one moment about doing what brings you joy.”

“I threw myself into that fire, threw myself into it, into him, and let myself burn.”

“I love you," I said, and stabbed him.”

“It’s a rare day indeed when someone thanks you for bringing them to their death.”

“Everything I love has always had a tendency to be taken away from me”

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Crowns

December/January Book Haul!

I finally forced myself to sit down and write this blogpost which is a haul! I believe that this is the first haul on this blog.

All the books I bought!

The first item I purchased from Barnes and Noble which is a Lady Sif Pop Vinyl doll.  It is so cute and I have it next to my bed.

I purchased this from Barnes and Noble as well. I have read all of The Lunar Chronicles series but I wanted to buy the second book as I only owned Cinder. Now I own two of them!

I purchased this off of Amazon because I wanted to read it ASAP! I loved this book and I have a review of it on this blog so go check it out.

I bought Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin because so much hype was going around and a lot of booktubers liked it so I decided to purchase it and it will go on a TBR in the future.

Now on to the books I received for Christmas!

I received the first book of the Children of the Lamp series from my parents and I can't wait to pick it up.

I received Nexis by A.L. Davroe from my sister. I am putting this on a TBR that is coming up as I really want to pick it up.

I received this book also from my parents because I had been wanting it since it came out and I seriously need to pick this one up.

I read this book last summer and I loved it so much so naturally I wanted to own it.

I did not ask for this book for Christmas but I love this series and naturally I was thrilled to receive this book.

This is one of my favorite books of all time and I received it from my parents for Christmas. I recommend this book to Fantasy lovers. There is a huntress, fey and Victorian London. Pick it up.

I love this series and yes it is Middle Grade but I can't resist a good Middle Grade book once in a while. I need to pick up the third book first as I don't remember it at all.

I received this book for Christmas as well and I love this series so much. This series is also Middle Grade but it is wonderful, full of action, friendship and beautifulness...

The last things I got were some movies and TV series.

I asked for Merlin Season Four because this TV show is wonderful and I have yet to finish this season but I will.

I also asked for Teen Wolf Season 2 or 3 but I only received Season 2  but I still adore this season.

I also asked for The Avengers Age of Ultron and Tomorrowland and I thankfully received both.

That is all for this haul but don't worry another one will come at the end of this week as I got some more books and goodies this month. Yes, I am a bookaholic (possibly).

Anyways, see you all soon as I have many many posts to come!
